	So, you've:

	- used amavisd-new for years
	- you've identified the problem (I assume you've sent patches to fix the issue)

	And, years later, you are still complaining about the issue, you haven't
	remedied the problem in your own setup (say, by prefixing the startup
	script with a command to touch the missing DB file), and you still
	manually have to deal with a box when it's not processing mails ?
	But yet you still use the software...

	Yes, I think it would be a good thing for you to switch to mailscanner.
