Postfix smtp client attempts to send a message to amavis. amavis defers the
message, because it can't forward it to the next hop. (amavis has no queue. A
client sends a message to amavis. amavis inspects and forwards it. Then it
tells the sending client it will accept the message. This way a message cannot
be lost.)

again: amavis can't forward the message.

I suspect you send the message from amavis back into Postfix. If that is so,
why doesn't Postfix accept the message on reentry? You should take a look at
the log.
