About amavisd-new reinjection path

Hi,

As per amavisd-new documentation about the following:

$notify_method  = 'smtp:[127.0.0.1]:10025';            # where to submit notifications

>From http://www.ijs.si/software/amavisd/README.postfix:

>> $notify_method,   specifies where notifications about scanned messages should be transported to.

what these 'notifications' are ? are these some status codes? Or some string messages ?
and is there a switch to turn it on or off ?
