Odd emit when starting amavisd 2.8.0

Yes, we are, although I don't recall the reasons behind it.  Something I 
inherited.  I will see if it is still necessary.

This is perl, v5.10.1 (*) built for x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi, Ubuntu 
10 LTS
