Thanks Gary, your message prompted me to wrap up a 2.6.5
with backported patches from 2.7.0-pre*. The more conservative
folks may prefer a maintenance release, compared to a major
new features + bug fixes release.  (although 2.6.5 would be
less well tested by me than 2.7.0 ;-)
